Hometown: Tathra, NSW, Australia

Where you live: Gold Coast, Australia

How long have you been spearfishing: About 8.5 years

Top 3 places you have spearfished:

Tweed Heads, NSW
Cairns, QLD
Fraser Island, QLD

First fish: Blackfish

Top 3 fish landed:

32.55kg Jewfish (Mulloway) – The Jew took me 7 years to get and hundreds of fish in between. A lot of time spent drifting in the currents of cold and dirty water paid off. I have been told that this is the biggest Jew shot off Tweed Heads, that’s humbling to know….

11.5kg Mangrove Jack – The Jack is not my biggest off Tweed but it was one of those dives where a series of events leads to the type of hun that is unbeatable! That and 3 of my best mates, Roy, G and Tim were all there to share the experience…. On my birthday!

10.45kg Leopard Trout (Common Trout) – The Trout was totally random but one of those many rewards for the time we spend searching new ground. We rarely get Common Trout so far south (Moreton Island) and this one beat Tim’s local CT by over half of a kilogram.

What fish to you think about hunting the most:

There are just too many. Mainly I think about the ground or territory fish like or new areas we have not yet discovered. If I drive past a rock pile or boulders I can’t help but think how good something like that would be off Tweed. Big Jacks, Jobfish and Jewfish are inspiring to hunt in their own respect.

Top 3 dream fish not yet landed:

Rosy Jobfish
White Margin Coronation
20kg Mangrove Jack

Biggest and/or most impressive fish/creature you have seen:

Fish in general and how they act. If you can figure them out you are halfway there

Best dive trip you have been on:

One with mates where we are not rushing or dive-bombing fish, where we all shoot epic fish… I have been on countless trips like this.

Favourite Gun:

85cm Rollergun with 8mm shaft. Fish don’t stand a chance…

Craziest thing you’ve seen while diving:

The fish off Tweed and whats required to get them. The GWS was pretty cool as well.

Plans and goals for the coming year:

Heading over to Peru for World Titles at the end of the year, should be a good experience.
